Openings

The City of Fairfield is looking for dependable, honest, energetic and motivated individuals to fill key positions within the City. Applicants may be required to demonstrate the ability to work in all weather conditions and extremes, able to lift and carry 50 pounds, pass a background check and drug screen, and have a valid Texas Drivers license. 

The following positions are Vacant:

Police Officers (2):  Under the direction of the Chief, the police officer is responsible for the enforcement of federal, state and municipal ordinances within the City of Fairfield. Applicants must have a Texas Peace Officer License issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

Salaries for the positions are commensurate with qualifications and experience. These positions will remain open until filled.

Streets Department: The City of Fairfield has an immediate opening for a position in the Streets Department. The Streets Department is responsible for performing general labor/crew member duties in support maintenance projects such as streets, concrete and drainage projects, or performs specialized duties related to Water Utilities. 

Parks Department: The City of Fairfield has an immediate opening for a position in the Parks Department. The Parks Department is responsible for grounds maintenance of city property.  Applicant must be able to work outside in all conditions. 

Water/ Wastewater: The City of Fairfield has an immediate opening for a position in the Water/Wastewater Department for a Operator II. The Operator II duties is to supervise, operate, and maintain the Water/Wastewater treatment facilities for the City of Fairfield in compliance with Federal, State, Local Ordinances and administrative policy of the City Council.
